Some plastic water bottles have dangerous chemicals in them.Look at the number on the bottom of the bottle, if the number is a 1, the water bottle is recommended for one use only.If it is a 2, 4, or 5 than the bottle is safe to refill and reuse. If the number is a 3 or a 6 then the bottle is potentially dangerous. If the number is a 7, the bottle contains a dangerous chemical called Bisphensol A (BPA ). Since most disposable plastic water bottles are made from type 1 plastic, people throw them away more, and they end up in landfills. These bottles are filling up our landfills! They do not disintegrate easily! Buy a safe, reusable plastic bottle and HELP US GO GREEN!

Out of these, eleven people use disposable bottles, seven use reusable bottles, and two use both.We put up a poster in our school to help raise awareness, we are hoping that these numbers will change soon.

Primo Water
Primo bottled water is the best choice if you HAVE TO use a bottled water. However it is recommended that you only use it once. These are better for the environment because they will disintegrate faster and they will be healthy for you too if you only use it once. They are made from renewable plants instead of petroleum a non-renewable resource that is in most other water bottles. For more information go to primowater.com!!!!!!!

WATER BOTTLE SALES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Harris Teeter on Firetower Road in Greenville, North Carolina is getting back with us on how many water bottles they sell in a week. Out of all the grocery stores we observed they carried the greatest number of water bottles. Their most popular water bottle brand is the twenty-four pack Spring and the twenty-four pack Deer Park. Dasani also sold pretty well.

The Food Lion on Red Banks Road in Greenville, North Carolina ran a computer test and gave us these figures. They sell about thirty-seven cases of the twenty-four pack Food Lion brand in three days. They sell twenty-one of the gallon distilled water in three days.

The only Kroger in Greenville, North Carolina gave us this information. When Dasani is on sale they sell about ten pallets a week. When they are the regular price they sell about three pallets per week. A pallet is forty twenty-four packs. Aquafina twenty-four packs sell about forty-five in one week because they are the most expensive. The generic brand sells about seventy-five twenty-four packs in one week when there was a sale on another brand. In a normal week the generic brand would normally sell about three hundred per week. Deer Park sells about one hundred twenty-five in one week.

Lowes Food in Greenville sells about three hundred cases of twenty-four packs in a week.

When we were doing our grocery store survey we found some reuseable number seven bottles (which is dangerous) make sure that you check the bottom of the bottle before you buy it.
